Persuasion is a type of power to influence or convince others to think a certain way from advertising or a strongly held opinion. In our class discussion we were given a challenge with a partner, to find ads or commercials and guess what technique was being shown to persuade with the categorys in an envelope. With these ten techniques below, i will adress how they can be used to persuade.
Humor: Funny, amusement, that would make the viewer laugh.
Macho: Manly, tough, strong, courageous. Can be a wrestler, cowboy, or heroic.
Friends: Group of people socializing, doing things together.
Family: A delightful family enjoying the product.
Fun: Everyone is happy, laughter and smiling having a fun time.
Nature: Outdoors, patio or picnic. An all natural product.
Sexy: Model, usually female. All glamorous, wavy hair, may wear revealing clothing,
and or act in a flirty way.
Cartoon: People or animal characterize in an animation or drawing, generally humorous.
Celebrity: Someone most people are familiar with - famous, athlete, musican, actor\actress.
Wealth: Expenssive and luxurious places or things. Welathy gadgets, clothing, home, cars, etc.
